An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, family-run manufacturing business in the Northeast. This role plays a key part in ensuring production equipment runs efficiently, safely, and reliably, with a focus on electrical maintenance and continuous improvement. You’ll be part of a dynamic engineering team, supporting both day-to-day operations and larger plant projects, including the introduction of new equipment.
The role will be working Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 17:00, and from 07:30 to 15:30 on Fridays.

The Job you will do:
- Planned preventative maintenance activities as scheduled.
- Effective reactionary engineering response to plant and equipment breakdowns.
- Involvement in projects as required, including the introduction of new plant and equipment.
- Assisting in site general maintenance, including metalwork fabrication if required.
- Liaising with offsite engineers / contractors when planning repairs.
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and repair quickly & efficiently.
- Keeping all equipment in good safe working order.
- Plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability.
- Ensuring consumable spares are kept in stock.
- Servicing and maintaining a log of all repairs and service records.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
- Ensuring health & safety regulations are followed.
About you:
- Experience of maintenance engineering within FMCG, Manufacturing or Production environment
- Great communication
- Proven diagnostic experience
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Must hold recognised electrical qualifications - BS 7671 18th edition, City & Guilds or equivalent
- Must be flexible, self-motivated, and be able to investigate, troubleshoot, locate and repair faults.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, independently and as part of a team.
