- The Job You’ll Do
- Maintain and enhance product safety, quality, and legal compliance in line with the company's food safety and quality policies.
- Coordinate, organise, administer, and supervise the day-to-day activities of the team
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and correct operation of equipment while overseeing the accurate picking, preparation, and collation of materials
- Support the Head of Operations by keeping the team informed of site objectives, performance, and business initiatives, ensuring colleagues understand their contribution to overall success.
- Foster a high-performing team culture by working closely with the Management Team, using effective coaching and development techniques to enhance colleagues' skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
- Manage employee attendance, holiday planning, and absence records to ensure effective workforce administration.
- Conduct timely and thorough investigations in accordance with company disciplinary procedures, working alongside HR and Shift Managers to ensure colleagues receive comprehensive training and regular refresher sessions.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and participating in company stock takes as required.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries, ensuring materials are accurately recorded, clearly identified, and stored correctly within the ERP inventory system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records through effective use of the ERP system.
- Manage departmental labour and material budgets, ensuring resources are utilised efficiently.
- Liaise with the Warehouse and Despatch Manager to optimise storage capacity and workflow, particularly during peak operational periods.
- Provide operational leadership and cover within the production area during the absence of Shift Managers.
About you
- Stock Management experience is essential ideally in the Food/FMCG industry.
- Line Management experience including appraisals, disciplinaries and investigations.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter with high level of initiative.
- Team player; performs well within a team but challenges where necessary.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels and all areas within the business.
- System and standards driven with a high attention to detail.
- Be able to analyse systems/procedures and recommend improvements to maximise productivity through KPI’s.
- Logical and understands production machinery and efficiency measures.
- Champions continuous improvement and encourages innovation.
