Overview

Our client are market leaders in their industry sector. They are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis.

  • The Job you’ll do
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance activities across all plant machinery and systems to minimise downtime.
  • Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure high standards of work.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules in line with manufacturer specifications and operational demands.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Manage projects related to equipment upgrades, repairs, or installations, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Oversee the utilisation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems optimisation.
  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions accordingly.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment history for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • Proven management experience with a strong background in supervising maintenance teams within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrable project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.

About You

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, schematics, and automation controls including PLCs.
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills to oversee maintenance programmes effectively.
  • Previous experience in managing maintenance operations with a focus on reliability-centred practices.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is essential for diagnosing and resolving diverse technical issues.
  • Fluency in English is required for clear communication across teams and documentation purposes.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or technical fields are preferred; certifications in management or project management are advantageous.
