MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Tool Maintenance Technician (Dayshift), to join their team. The job you’ll do:
- Carry out all work safely, adhering to site rules, procedures, and health and safety requirements
- Maintain, service, and repair mould tooling and associated components to ensure optimal performance
- Perform precision machining operations to support production, engineering, and maintenance requirements
- Monitor the tool change schedule through planning reports and tool change meetings to ensure timely completion of work
- Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and maintain an effective maintenance schedule
- Complete maintenance activities in accordance with the planned maintenance programme
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of tooling spares and consumables to support operational requirements
- Ensure the tool room and surrounding work areas are maintained to a consistently high standard of housekeeping
- Liaise with external suppliers to coordinate tooling requirements, repairs, and procurement activities
- Attend and contribute to meetings representing the Tool Room as required
- Conduct risk assessments and support audit activities across the factory to promote a safe working environment
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Tool Room to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability
About you:
- Time served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Die Maintenance or similar
- Experience working within plastics or injection moulding manufacturing
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills at all levels
