- The job you’ll do
- Carry out all work safely, in full compliance with site procedures and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and minimise production downtime.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Accurately estimate repair times and recognise the operational impact of any delays.
- Record and report the root causes of breakdowns and equipment faults.
- Deliver all maintenance activities to a high standard, ensuring compliance with quality and operational requirements.
- Support the development of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, as well as the installation and relocation of plant and equipment.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Undertake additional engineering duties as assigned by the Shift Manager or Engineering Manager.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings, technical documentation, and other relevant information effectively.
About you
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Maintenance or similar (HNC is desirable)
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical information.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
