MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Dayshift), to join their team.

  • The job you’ll do
  • Carry out all work safely, in full compliance with site procedures and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and minimise production downtime.
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Accurately estimate repair times and recognise the operational impact of any delays.
  • Record and report the root causes of breakdowns and equipment faults.
  • Deliver all maintenance activities to a high standard, ensuring compliance with quality and operational requirements.
  • Support the development of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, as well as the installation and relocation of plant and equipment.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Undertake additional engineering duties as assigned by the Shift Manager or Engineering Manager.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, technical documentation, and other relevant information effectively.

About you

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Maintenance or similar (HNC is desirable)
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical information.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
