MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based near Washington by recruiting a permanent Electrical Estimator. You will be joining an industry leading company, with an excellent team-based culture and fantastic long-term career prospects.

The Job You’ll Do:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and other associated costs.
  • Review project specifications and drawings to provide accurate and competitive bids.
  • Work closely with sales and engineering, ensuring the smooth handover of won projects.
  • Evaluate project requirements, scope of work, and technical details to ensure that all estimates are comprehensive and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Monitor project budgets during the tender phase and ensure that all estimates are kept within defined limits.
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimates, tenders, and communications.
  • Provide detailed reports to senior management and stakeholders on project performance and costing accuracy.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, competitor pricing, and new technologies to ensure estimates remain competitive and current.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with pricing and project delivery, proposing solutions to mitigate these risks.

About You:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in an electrical discipline (desirable) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate estimates.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
