Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are now looking to recruit a Distribution Planner on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- As a Distribution Requirements Planner, you will have responsibility to coordinate production workflow through all areas of the business ensuring minimum delay.
- Use system data to coordinate workflow through all business areas.
- Build and execute time-phased Distribution Requirements Plans (DRP) for stock movements between company plants/warehouses.
- Determine optimal transfer frequencies and lot sizes.
- Manage target stock levels, and buffers to protect service while minimising total network inventory.
- Track transfer order adherence, transit variance, receiving constraints; resolving issues proactively.
- Ensure production plans are prioritised to ensure minimum delay with maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to prioritise incoming goods inspection.
- Ensure you work within stock level guidelines both from a service and financial perspective.
- Maintain system accuracy at all times.
- Utilise all applicable key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify underperforming areas.
- Work closely with the Team Leader to recommend short term and permanent solutions.
- Contribute to and support improvement initiatives in place or being introduced.
About You
- To apply we ask that you are a technically minded Planner with the ability to optimise flow across our multisite manufacturing network demand, capacity and inventory so the right parts are in the right place at the right time.
- You\\\’ll bring 3-7 years experience in production, supply or materials planning, with hands on MRP/ERP and DRP expertise, strong transaction discipline and parameter management.
- You\\\’ll have a solid grasp of BOMs, routings, capacity planning (CRP/RCCP) and finite scheduling, plus proven planning experience of inter site transfers, network inventory and logistics constraints.
- Comfortable with complex part structures and change control, you\\\’re highly proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel. Ideally, you\\\’ll have worked with systems such as SAP (ECC/S4), Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, IFS or Infor.
- Analytically strong and commercially aware, you will communicate clearly at all levels, stay organised under deadlines and show high attention to detail.
- A proactive team player with an enthusiastic, forward thinking approach, you plan ahead and help drive continuous improvement.
- This position will be on a full time, permanent basis, and working day shift hours of 37 hours per week.
