MTrec Recruitment is proudly supporting our Newcastle city centre-based client in their search for a Data Entry Clerk. They are looking for the right candidate to support the effective, accurate and timely operation of the weekly and monthly payroll within their business. The Role you will be doing:
- Accurately inputting payroll data including hours worked, overtime, absences, and basic adjustments.
- Transferring information from timesheets and internal systems into payroll software.
- Checking data for accuracy and flagging discrepancies to senior team members.
- Updating employee records, including starters, leavers, and changes to personal details.
- Assisting with maintaining organiser and up-to-date payroll records and filing systems.
- Supporting the payroll team with preparation of weekly and monthly payroll runs.
- Entering data relating to holiday, sickness, and other employee leave.
- Assisting with basic payroll reports and spreadsheets.
- Liaising with internal departments to gather missing or incomplete payroll information.
- Responding to simple data queries and escalating issues where necessary.
- Ensuring all data is handled confidentially and in line with company procedures.
- Supporting general administrative tasks within the payroll function.
About You:
- Data input skills and experience is essential.
