MTrec Recruitment is representing our industry-leading manufacturing client based in the heart of Midlothian. The business is a well-established company and is looking to expand their talented quality team by recruiting a full-time and permanent Quality Assurance Technologist.

The Job You Will Do:
- Strive for continual improvement in the company’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environment performance
- Maintain compliance with the company's Quality Assurance Accreditations.
- Hold routine quality focus meetings with designated department(s); conduct trending on internal rejections and customer complaints and communicate findings; encourage operator input in identifying improvement actions
- Collection and retention of product quality samples
- Development of customer technical specifications.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers and site auditors; provide support on quality-related issues
- Raise root cause investigations for customer complaints and internal non-compliance issues
- Conduct checks throughout all stages of production for quality and compliance with customer specifications; conduct positive release for specific customers
- Conduct laboratory tests and prepare certificates of conformity and analysis
- Active involvement in company Hazard and Risk Analysis programme
- Active involvement in internal audit process.
- Monitor and maintain the site hygiene and housekeeping programme
- Monitor and maintain site pest control programme
- Monitor and maintain instrument calibration programme
- Provide cover for general Health & Safety and Environment duties, e.g. incident recording/investigation, action tracking, risk assessments
About you:
- Experience coordinating quality activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining compliance with quality management systems.
- Understanding of quality, hygiene, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working within a regulated or process-driven environment.
- Knowledge or experience of HACCP and food safety principles.
- Experience working within a food manufacturing or similar regulated industry.
