MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Newcastle, who are looking to recruit a Shift Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working Hours:
- 3x Shift System (Days, backs & nights).
- 35-hour week.
The Job You’ll Do:
- Leading the shift effectively and ensuring appropriate prioritisation of resources.
- Handling shift changes and handovers.
- Initial Safety & Conduct Investigations.
- Carrying out Return to Work meetings.
- Carrying out Low Level Conduct and Absence Meetings.
- Ensuring accurate Stock Checks are completed. Labour Movement Decisions & Absence Logs.
- Managing daily performance KPI’s.
- Hold daily Operations Meetings.
- Order new PPE and Workwear as and when needed.
- Unsafe Situation Reports, 100% participation of shift.
- General Hygiene and Housekeeping duties.
- Escalation of out-of-hour issues to Department Managers, Engineering Manager and SHE Manager.
- Working a 3 Shift Rota working a days, nights, and backs pattern.
About You:
- Experience managing a team within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Educated to GCSE level or above.
- Additional Management qualifications are desirable but not required (IOSH, NVQ, NEBOSH, LEAN etc.).
- Committed to health & safety.
- Seen as a positive role model.
- Possesses a can-do positive attitude with a drive to succeed and motivate others.
- Possesses excellent communication skills. Remain calm under pressure.
