The job you’ll do
- A hands-on Lead Engineering role diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy plant equipment.
- Provide expert technical support to the engineering team and act as the main Technical specialist
- Training and mentoring younger team members
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel-based systems
- Attending escalated issues at customer sites as required (on average once per week, primarily at sites in the North East)
About you
- Experience working with a wide range of heavy plant equipment/machinery.
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant engineering discipline (plant maintenance, land-based engineering etc.)
- Knowledge in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing diesel-based systems
- Knowledge of fabrication is desirable
- Strong diagnostic skillset across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and make confident technical decisions
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in being part of a winning team
