MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Tool Maintenance Technician (Dayshift), to join their team.

The job you’ll do

  • Carry out all work safely, adhering to site rules, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain, service, and repair mould tooling and associated components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform precision machining operations to support production, engineering, and maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor the tool change schedule through planning reports and tool change meetings to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and maintain an effective maintenance schedule.
  • Complete maintenance activities in accordance with the planned maintenance programme.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of tooling spares and consumables to support operational requirements.
  • Ensure the tool room and surrounding work areas are maintained to a consistently high standard of housekeeping.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to coordinate tooling requirements, repairs, and procurement activities.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings representing the Tool Room as required.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support audit activities across the factory to promote a safe working environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Tool Room to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability.

About you

  • Time served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Die Maintenance or similar
  • Experience working within plastics or injection moulding manufacturing
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills at all levels
