The Company
Our clients are specialists in the Process sector; due to growth they are looking for a Materials and Production Planner.
The Role
- You will develop and improve planning processes and organize production according to demand and quality standards, ensuring our goods are produced on time for distribution.
- Responsibility for planning and scheduling goods and materials ensuring there is a steady supply of materials to meet production needs.
- Create production plans prioritise production demand and liaise with key departments.
- Assess stock levels and ensure production needs and maintain agreed stock levels.
- Communicate daily any issues that may affect the production schedule.
- Generate timely stock figures.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Assist in ensuring availability of plant and materials to maintain on time in full performance.
- Accurate input of production information/updating spreadsheets.
- Work with the Purchasing Officer to inform them of purchasing requirements to meet the production schedule.
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.).
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify weaknesses and close operational gaps.
- Responsibility for moving product to Warehouse in line with customer orders.
- You'll be ensuring that materials and components are available at the right time and in the right quantities to achieve production continuity.
- Work with Supply Chain Manager to implement service level agreements with suppliers and build KPI’s to measure supplier performance.

You must be well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them.
You need to have excellent organisational skills and be results-driven together with great problem-solving ability.
Advanced communication and computer skills would be very useful for this role.
Must have experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a similar role with knowledge of end-to-end process.
Excellent knowledge of production planning, purchasing and quality control principles.
Experience in MRP.
Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
Good at maths and statistics.
Ability to show initiative in solving problems and identifying improvements.
Ability to work accurately and methodically.
Knowledge of Quality System Procedures and requirements.
Understand ISO9001 and GMP requirements.
