The Role you will be doing;
The Test and Diagnostics Technician will be responsible for the comprehensive testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic equipment and components within our manufacturing facility.
You will ensure that products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications.
You will also play a key role in identifying and resolving issues at various stages of the production process.
- Perform functional and diagnostic testing on electronic sub-assemblies and final products in accordance with defined test procedures and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose failures down to component level, identifying root causes of defects and recommending solutions.
- Utilize various test equipment and diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and automated test equipment (ATE).
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and other relevant documentation to effectively troubleshoot and repair electronic systems.
- Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and repair of production and test equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
- Complete accurate test reports and records, documenting testing procedures, results, and repairs in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on product performance, identify areas for improvement, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development of test procedures and methodologies for new products and existing designs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, according to the Health and Safety Executive.
About You;
- Degree or equivalent experience in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of electronic principles, circuit design, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Proficiency in using electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and other technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting methods, familiarity with testing tools and software, ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to diagnose faults down to component level, and interpret test data.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal), ability to document findings, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous in testing processes, committed to producing high-quality work, and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) is preferred but not essential.
- Experience with surface mount and through-hole soldering is a plus
