This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys combining design, programming, and manufacturing engineering to bring innovative products to life.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing manufacturing processes, creating CNC programs, supporting new product introduction, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

The Role you will be doing;

Reporting to the Technical & Quality Manager, the CAD/CAM Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for creating manufacturing-ready designs, programming CNC equipment, and supporting the production team to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on role that requires both technical expertise and a practical approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and optimise CNC machining programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Produce 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Use Solid Works to develop and maintain product and assembly designs.
  • Utilise Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D) for complex modelling and customer-specific design requirements.
  • Generate production-ready artwork, engraving files, and technical graphics using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Support the introduction of new products from concept through to production.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and setup instructions.
  • Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Support route creation, process planning, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, health & safety, and customer requirements.

About You;

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design, or Production Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a CAD/CAM Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Solid Works.
  • Experience using Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience generating CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and CNC machining.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Desirable Experience

Experience within plastics, polymers, composites, or precision manufacturing.

Knowledge of CNC milling and multi-axis machining.

Fixture and tooling design experience.

Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
