The Company you will be working for:
MTrec Commercial are proudly representing our industry leading client on their search to appoint a fully Qualified Accountant to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. If you feel you have the required skill and experience, then please apply for an immediate response!
The Role you will be doing:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts by the 7th working day of each month. Produce detailed variance analysis and performance reporting by the 9th working day. Provide financial commentary and recommendations to the senior management team. Maintain the general ledger to ensure financial reporting is accurate and compliant with UK GAAP and Companies Act requirements.
- Planning and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and profit plans. Prepare regular financial forecasts and updates.
- Financial Control: Maintain and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard company assets. Manage fixed asset accounting. Oversee inventory accounting including validation of stock and work in progress (WIP) valuations. Monitor job profitability and review write-offs where necessary.
- Compliance and Statutory Reporting: Manage VAT returns, PAYE reporting and statistical reporting obligations. Prepare supporting analysis for statutory accounts and external auditors. Support group reporting requirements to head office.
- Business Support: Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions. Evaluate financial viability of capital expenditure and revenue projects. Work closely with operational managers to ensure financial targets are achievable and aligned with business strategy.
- Team Management: Manage and support payroll, sales ledger and purchase ledger functions. Provide guidance and development support to finance team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and reporting. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
- General Responsibilities: Participate in management and communication meetings. Comply with company health and safety, environmental and HR policies. Undertake other duties reasonably required within the finance function.

- Delivery of monthly management accounts by the 7th working day.

About You:
Qualifications:
- Essential: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent professional experience.
Experience:
- Essential: Experience in management accounting. Experience producing monthly management accounts and financial reports. Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience working with ERP or MRP systems (e.g. Syspro, SAP). Experience preparing year-end audit working papers. Experience working to tight reporting deadlines.
- Desirable: Experience of VAT, PAYE and HMRC reporting. Experience of inventory accounting and work in progress (WIP) valuation. Experience supervising or mentoring finance staff.
