The Company
We are working with a long-established Regional Contractor whose NW Construction team would generally deliver projects for clients principally based around Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire. Projects delivered in the region have included new build, refurb and retrofit projects in a variety of sectors. They are in a good place having recently secured their place on a number of key, long term frameworks and have lots of work in the pipeline. They are a highly ethical business who have invested significant sums in employee welfare programmes and social value initiatives.
The Role
They are now keen to recruit a Senior Design Manager to their Design team due to their ongoing growth - this is a new role and they are open to someone working on a hybrid basis. You will be tasked with controlling design activity on projects through the preconstruction, delivery and aftercare phases. Provide advice on design risk to the commercial, planning, operations and client teams. Produce, agree and manage realistic design programs. Ensure the delivery team are working to the correct specifications. Navigate the Building Safety Act and its various Gateways. Mentor members of the design team.
You
To be successful in this role you will need to have worked as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager on building projects previously. You’ll need an in depth understanding of Building Regulations, construction methodologies, the Building Safety Act, Gateway submissions and PAS 2035/2038 standards. Commercially aware with an understanding of value engineering. IT literate. Good verbal and written communication skills. You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
