The Role

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – assisting with commercial and contractual requirements on projects, supporting financial performance, preparing cost reports, applying contract forms and measurement standards, valuing variations, managing subcontractor appointments, and maintaining client and design team relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with commercial and contractual requirements according to company procedures.
  • Help ensure sound financial performance, managing profitability, cash flow, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate monthly cost reports.
  • Apply main contract and sub‑contract forms, and Standard Method of Measurement.
  • Prepare and agree monthly valuations, including variations and final account forecasts.
  • Assist with appointment of subcontractors, procurement and account management, including valuations, payment notices and final accounts.
  • Maintain close working relationships with clients and design teams.

You ideally have a few years of experience with a main or sub‑contractor, can commute to Greater Manchester daily, and understand how to read drawings.
