The Company: We are working with a leading, national, building contractor whose Manchester Office has created a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for clients based in the North West of England. Of the 30+ people we have placed in roles with this company most are still with the business, many have progressed into new roles and the vast majority of people we send for interview with this business want to work for them. The Role: They are looking to recruit an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their Pre-Construction team in their North West Regional Office. This is a real player/manager role where you will provide leadership and direction to the precon team in conjunction with the Precon Director and will also have responsibility for leading bids of varying sizes and types. Each project will have a Project Director/Manager and QS who together with you, your bid team, estimating, design and planning teams produce persuasive bids. You will be given the resources to continue their success and to help improve the work winning process here helping them to secure work from their frameworks and continue to secure work from their private sector client base too. You will take ownership for the development and successful delivery of pre-qualifications, proposals and tenders for projects based throughout the North West. You’ll develop and champion win strategies. Be responsible for early client engagement and effective communication throughout the bid process. Receive and understand tender documents and develop targeted proposals that meet/exceed the client's needs and aspirations. You’ll ensure key bid milestones are hit ensuring the bids are clear, concise and effectively meets/exceeds the requirements. Carry out site visits. Proofread all documentation that leaves the building.

You: To be successful in this role it’s likely that you will be working for a similar Building Contractor as a Precon Manager, Senior Bid Manager or Bid Manager ready to take the next step in your career. You will have an in-depth understanding of the construction market and be able to inspire confidence in internal and external stakeholders. You will be commercially aware and based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
