I’m working with a well-established regional contractor to recruit a Trainee Quantity Surveyor as part of their ongoing growth and commitment to developing future commercial talent. The Role:
- You’ll be working closely with experienced commercial professionals, supporting the delivery of construction projects while developing a strong foundation in Quantity Surveying.
- This is primarily an office-based role with regular site visits, giving you exposure to both commercial and operational aspects of projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Supporting the preparation of valuations and applications for payment
- Helping to manage subcontractor packages and procurement processes
- Assisting with cost tracking and variation management
- Supporting the commercial team with contract administration tasks
- Attending site visits to gain practical project experience
- Working closely with project teams to understand delivery and cost control
- Learning industry systems, processes, and best practices
- Developing a strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
What You’ll Need:
- A basic understanding of Quantity Surveying principles (through education or experience)
- Strong interest in building a long-term career in construction/commercial roles
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong communication and willingness to learn
- Organised and detail-oriented approach
- Full UK driving licence (or working towards) preferred
- Must have the right to work in the UK
