I’m working with a well-established regional contractor to recruit a Trainee Quantity Surveyor as part of their ongoing growth and commitment to developing future commercial talent. The Role:

  • You’ll be working closely with experienced commercial professionals, supporting the delivery of construction projects while developing a strong foundation in Quantity Surveying.
  • This is primarily an office-based role with regular site visits, giving you exposure to both commercial and operational aspects of projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Supporting the preparation of valuations and applications for payment
  • Helping to manage subcontractor packages and procurement processes
  • Assisting with cost tracking and variation management
  • Supporting the commercial team with contract administration tasks
  • Attending site visits to gain practical project experience
  • Working closely with project teams to understand delivery and cost control
  • Learning industry systems, processes, and best practices
  • Developing a strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing

What You’ll Need:

  • A basic understanding of Quantity Surveying principles (through education or experience)
  • Strong interest in building a long-term career in construction/commercial roles
  • Good numerical and analytical skills

  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards) preferred
