We’re working with a well-established regional contractor to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of infrastructure projects across Yorkshire.
This is a role suited to a QS who is confident in managing day-to-day commercial duties across civils schemes, with exposure to roads, drainage, earthworks, and infrastructure packages.
You’ll be working as part of an experienced commercial team, with the opportunity to take ownership of your projects while continuing to develop under strong leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Supporting the commercial management of civils projects from start through to completion
- Managing subcontract procurement, negotiation, and placement of orders
- Administering subcontract accounts, including valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Assisting with client valuations and cost recovery
- Producing cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs
- Monitoring project costs and identifying risks and opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with contract requirements (typically NEC)
- Working closely with site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or groundworks
- Good understanding of NEC contracts (or willingness to develop)
- Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes on live projects
- Strong numerical and commercial awareness
- Ability to work within a team and manage your own workload
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred)
- Strong pipeline of secured civils work across the region
