The Company: We are working with a well-established, regional building contractor who are active in a number of market sectors and are particularly good at securing industrial, commercial, education, leisure and residential schemes. They have recently secured a number of new contracts and have the opportunity to bid for further work via great, historic client relationships. They have a very knowledgeable senior management team and have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported.
The Role: They are now in a position to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator to replace one of their team who are retiring later this year. You will be tasked with receiving tender enquiries and presenting the details to the Directors and agreeing to bid or not, complete the risk register, work with the rest of the pre-construction team to meet deadlines, sending out and vet subcontract enquiries, conducting site visits, attending tender review meetings, building up the tender through to tender adjudication and settlement whilst looking for value engineering opportunities, present the financial elements of the tender in line with the clients' specification and help with post tender negotiations. You will be joining a small close knit Estimating team working under an Estimating Manager.
You: You will be based in or be able to commute to Lancashire daily - they do offer flexible working hours to ease the commute/ work around school drop offs etc. You will be IT literate (ideally with experience using specialist Estimating software – they use Conquest). Good knowledge of construction techniques, methodology and supply chain in the North West. If you are currently at Estimator level, they'd like to hear from you too as they can also recruit at this level and can provide you with support to progress to Senior level in time.
