We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team in Derry.

This role is central to ensuring the successful delivery of technical packages, with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule.

You will work closely with the Operations Director, Contract Manager and Electrical Project Managers and on-site teams to manage project delivery from planning through to completion

Responsibilities

  • Attending weekly Tender workbook review meetings alongside Estimating team and Senior Management.
  • Review tender documentation on projects within MTM to allow assessment of tender packages.
  • Review project specifications and design drawings and generate RFI logs in conjunction with Estimating team.
  • Assist to provide templates for cost sheet which can be used alongside tender packages and creating SE trackers.
  • Create CDE documents applicable to each project - (standard/template MTM CDE form to be implemented and approved) if not already available from client side.
  • Liaise with Estimating team and Document Controllers to generate pricing packs for outsourced specialised equipment such as Client Furnished Contractor Installed (CFCI) and/or specialised cabling and accessories
  • Supplier engagement on materials for pricing alongside relevant product information
  • Review and provide due diligence on the of returned vendor offerings (e. g. technical specifications compliance etc)
  • Assist in review on commercial numbers alongside estimating and commercial team prior to issuing to client. Director agreement signs off.
  • Site travel required as per project’s needs.
  • Attend regular technical meetings with the client and internal teams.
  • Monitor and assist with the performance of each assigned project in consultation with Contracts Manager.
  • Align with Preconstruction Contracts Manager and ensure procurement is executed in timely manner to meet project schedules and be specification compliant.
  • Assisting with operational coordination of the project alongside site management teams.
  • Participate in negotiations to agree variation scope and resolve any disputes.
  • Assist and manage junior office/site-based engineers that are supporting the project(s).
  • Manage site based electrical engineers which are supporting the project.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the assigned site teams while maintaining a professional manner.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with clients to ensure their expectations are met.
  • Meet regular with the client, stakeholders, and operations managers to discuss project progression.
  • Identify challenges and potential improvements to processes integrating lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Industrial electrical experience with either in a Project Management or Contracts Management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of MV/LV cable installation, containment systems, and electrical commissioning, protocol and management platforms.

Strong understanding of Industrial project environments including safety protocols and client expectations

  • Proven experience managing electrical site teams.
  • Solid track record of delivering complex electrical packages on time and within budget.
  • Excellent organisational, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Proficient in project management software and reporting tools. (Training can be provided)
  • Fluent in English (minimum C2 level), both written and spoken.
  • EU citizenship or unrestricted visa-free travel within the EU.
