We are seeking a Procurement Manager in our Derry office for a new role within MTM Engineering. Our Procurement Team operates within a decentralised model, where project and delivery teams are responsible for executing purchasing activities. This role sits at an enterprise level and provides governance, oversight, and commercial leadership across all procurement spend rather than carrying out day‑to‑day buying. The primary purpose of the role is to design and maintain strong procurement frameworks that enable efficient, compliant purchasing while safeguarding commercial and operational risk. The scope includes policy development, supplier strategy, risk management, and value creation across cost, cashflow, and performance. The role also acts as a key commercial advisor to project teams, ensuring procurement enables rather than constrains delivery.

About MTM Engineering: MTM Engineering is a market leading specialist electrical contractor that provides medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) cable installation, termination services, busbar and containment solutions for a wide range of construction projects. Headquartered in Ireland, we deliver mission critical projects for a range of customers across Europe and beyond. Our expertise spans industry sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, power generation, critical infrastructure and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement activity across the business within a decentralised buying model
  • Define and continuously improve procurement policies, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies through KPI monitoring and cultural leadership
  • Oversee supplier onboarding, approval processes, and ongoing supplier performance management
  • Own and standardise commercial terms including contracts, payment structures, and risk allocation
  • Provide governance and oversight of subcontract procurement to ensure compliance and value delivery
  • Develop and manage supplier frameworks, preferred supply chains, and category strategies
  • Drive value creation across spend, focusing on cost, cashflow optimisation, and supplier performance
  • Enable project teams through practical tools, templates, and commercial guidance
  • Maintain enterprise visibility of spend, reducing maverick buying through effective system design
  • Approve high‑value and high‑risk procurement decisions in line with governance controls
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to project and delivery teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement capability and operating maturity

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement or commercial leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of procurement governance, policy development, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience operating within or supporting decentralised procurement environments
  • Commercial acumen with expertise in contracts, risk management, and supplier negotiation
  • Ability to influence and partner with cross‑functional teams at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills with experience managing spend visibility and performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

MTM Engineering is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
