Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. Working from our Engineering Hub in Armagh, you will support major Data Centre projects across Europe. You will work closely with Project Managers, Design Teams, and Clients to develop and oversee electrical design solutions from concept through to construction. This role requires technical precision, strong coordination skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to review technical specifications and recommend optimal engineering solutions
  • Produce detailed electrical designs and technical drawings for containment systems, cable routing, and associated components
  • Troubleshoot design challenges and develop solutions to accommodate other services and systems
  • Extract accurate measurements from BIM models (Revit/Navisworks) and apply to design layouts
  • Use BIM software to assess site requirements and identify potential coordination issues
  • Lead the development and review of electrical design scopes with internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Prepare technical documentation including plans, schedules, cost estimates, and bid packages
  • Assess technical data for compliance with contract specifications and highlight areas for clarification or resolution
  • Create and maintain technical submittals, equipment registers, and approval trackers
  • Issue and follow up on submittals to secure material and equipment approvals in a timely manner
  • Conduct ongoing design and installation quality checks to maintain project standards
  • Uphold and evolve MTM’s internal electrical design standards, templates, and best practices
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical design and coordination, preferably within industrial or data centre environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical containment, cable routing, and BIM coordination
  • Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a strong focus on collaboration and project delivery
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English (minimum C2 level), both written and spoken
  • EU citizenship or the ability to travel freely within the EU
