VACANCY: Materials Handler

LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)

ABOUT US:

MTL Advanced is a Yorkshire-based steel engineering and manufacturing company operating from a 300,000 sq. ft. facility in Rotherham.

We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM\’s from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail.

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Material Handler who has a strong desire to learn and grow with our business. You will feed our production teams with the materials required (steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc), manoeuvring materials on and off the machines either by crane or manually. You will require an in date FLT ( Counterbalance ) Licence to keep all aspects of the materials flowing.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

· Efficient unloading, handling and storage of delivered material

· Inspection of materials to agreed quality parameters

· Ensuring correct storage both inside and outside with location of materials and adhering to any special instructions

· Ensure Mill certification is with steel delivery – verifying correct cast numbers

· Correct identification and marking up of material with unique traceability number

· Completed paperwork to be given to Purchasing Department

· Sorting and feeding production with materials to production plans including assisting with manoeuvring of materials on to and off the machines, either by crane or manually.

· Any down time beyond the above functions then assistance to be given in Laser Department

ABOUT YOU:

· Recent / relevant experience in a Manufacturing Goods In / Warehouse environment

· Valid and in date Fork Lift Truck Licence – Counterbalance Licence B2

· Slinging and Lifting skills

· Collaborative working style

· Flexibility to adjust to workload priorities

· Excellent organisation / time management skills

· strong communication and motivational skills

· Physical stamina – manually moving materials

· Proficient in the use of warehouse / manufacturing technology and computer based operating systems
