ABOUT THE ROLE
Actively interpret technical drawings, program, set up and operate CNC machinery accordingly
Supervise machines and team during operation, making real-time adjustments for enhanced results
Report and document any discrepancies in operations, including maintenance faults
Generate a detailed shift handover
Oversee process changes within the team and department
Attend meetings for production / contract updates as required
Write CNC milling programs for all machines as required (Fanuc, Edgecam / Cadcam)
Set up and develop new and existing products on machine centres
Assist and advise in the design and jigs and fixtures
Maintain and control a current program register and tool inventory
Create SOPs, setup sheets and other documents to aid in production
General supervision of Machine Shop;
Support, coach, mentor, train and develop team. Highlight training gaps
Ensure team are working efficiently, effectively and are on target to deliver
Ensure production schedules are met and set clear objectives
Drive improvements in efficiencies
ABOUT YOU
Recent and relevant Machine Shop Team Leading / Supervisory experience
Experience with precision measurement instruments
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong math skills for measurements and calculations
Able to demonstrate excellent manufacturing practices
A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
