MTA Digital is one of the few print businesses that genuinely does both small-format and large-format work under one roof, from business cards and leaflets through to large-format print and installations. We're a close-knit, family-run team based in London (SE6) with easy access from Bellingham Station and car parking available
The Role
Run the factory floor at a family run print business that does it all under one roof, from business cards and leaflets to large-format print and installation. This is a newly created role reporting into our General Manager, and over time you’ll become the person we trust to make the call when we’re not in the room.
Why this role
- Real ownership. You'll have genuine authority over scheduling, quality, people and day-to-day floor decisions.
- Room to grow: a clear route to wider operational or general management responsibility as the business grows.
- Variety. Few print businesses run HP Indigo, toner and wide-format under one roof, so no two days look the same.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the production team day to day, and stepping in on the floor when it matters
- Scheduling and prioritising jobs across small-format and large-format print runs against tight deadlines
- Owning quality, troubleshooting and finishing standards across HP Indigo, toner and EFI wide-format work
- Building a flexible, cross-trained team, and managing performance, holidays and development
- Working closely with our Installation Manager and General Manager so production and installation stay aligned
What we're looking for
- A track record of managing a production team on a print factory floor (works, production, print room or shift manager)
- A hands-on digital print background: wide or large format (e.g. EFI Vutek) and/or HP Indigo or toner, with the credibility to step in on the floor
- Confident planning and deadline management, and comfortable making decisions under pressure
- Right to work in the UK
Great to have
- General understanding of imposition and prepress principles across both small and large format work
- General technical skills — colour management, preflighting, and job costing/MIS systems (we use PACE)
Salary range: £55,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
This is a genuine opportunity to shape a newly created role in a growing, family-run business.
