Responsibilities
- Assisting the surgical team to provide a quality service.
- Assisting the surgical team to deliver safe patient care.
- Supporting the surgical team in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy environment throughout theatres.
- Maintaining good stock levels.
- Working as part of the weekend and on-call rota.
- Working as part of the team to maintain good working relationships.
- Communicating well both verbally and in writing.
- Being able to work under supervision.
- Able to provide and receive routine information.
- Providing information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated.
- Reporting any concern regarding patient care.
- Maintaining confidentiality.
- Supervised by the trained nurse, records care.
- Able to help ensure infection control standards are maintained by all members of the MDT.
- Able to maintain theatres clean and tidy at all times.
- Join weekend and night rotation after competence training.
- Completion of a Care Certificate qualification in Perioperative care is expected.
Qualifications
- Good verbal and written command of English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Numeracy equivalent to GCSE.
- Care Certificate qualification in Perioperative care (may be completed as part of the role).
