Responsibilities:
- Assist in the provision of sterile services to Theatres and support Theatre Staff within the Operating Theatre.
- Day‑to‑day management of CMH Theatre instruments being transferred between hospitals.
- Scanning of instruments from IHHS trolley to instrument storage CMH Theatres.
- Work closely with the Clinical Theatre Manager, the Trust Theatre Equipment Lead and Clinical Teams to ensure smooth and efficient running of theatres.
- Repair and refurbishment of theatre instruments and reporting faulty equipment to EBME.
- Assist the Loan Instrument Lead Coordinator in maintaining an equipment register for all medical and surgical equipment within the department.
- Record and action all non‑conformance and negotiate any dispute.
- Book and check surgical loan/hired/borrowed equipment from companies or other hospitals; arrange transportation and returns/collection and maintain an accurate record.
- Update the theatre team regarding theatre supplies and associated finances, pricing and technical matters.
- Assist and negotiate with consultant, surgeons and theatre staff regarding supplies, ensuring appropriate stock and items are ordered in a timely manner in line with the department's budget.
- Liaise with EBME and other companies regarding repairs and replacement in line with current safety standards.
- Provide support to the Loan and Instrument Coordinator with invoice queries with suppliers which may be contentious due to discrepancies and/or delays in payment.
