Responsibilities:
- Act as a scrub team leader, organising and overseeing smooth running lists.
- Be responsible for an identified group of staff, developing, training, monitoring, and documenting the development of their clinical skills.
- Establish, lead and maintain a high standard of pre/peri and postoperative care.
- Contribute positively towards the delivery of a cost‑effective service, adjusting staffing levels to meet demand and assisting the clinical co‑ordinators to keep within agreed resources.
- Work six days per week, including occasional on‑call Saturdays and participation in the CMH on‑call rota.
- Work at different locations within the Trust as required to meet service needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse or Registered ODP with Level 6 qualification.
- Teaching and supervision qualification and management training.
- Extensive experience in theatre scrub and team lead in orthopaedic theatre.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and teaching/assessment experience.
- Knowledge of current issues in operating theatre and people management.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Appraisal skill and competent IT skill.
- Demonstrate HEART values and positive influence in daily activities and communication.
