Salary: £44,485 to £52,521 a year inclusive of HCAS Band: Band 6

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a scrub team leader, organising and overseeing smooth running lists.
  • Be responsible for an identified group of staff, developing, training, monitoring, and documenting the development of their clinical skills.
  • Establish, lead and maintain a high standard of pre/peri and postoperative care.
  • Contribute positively towards the delivery of a cost‑effective service, adjusting staffing levels to meet demand and assisting the clinical co‑ordinators to keep within agreed resources.
  • Work six days per week, including occasional on‑call Saturdays and participation in the CMH on‑call rota.
  • Work at different locations within the Trust as required to meet service needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Nurse or Registered ODP with Level 6 qualification.
  • Teaching and supervision qualification and management training.
  • Extensive experience in theatre scrub and team lead in orthopaedic theatre.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and teaching/assessment experience.
  • Knowledge of current issues in operating theatre and people management.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Appraisal skill and competent IT skill.
  • Demonstrate HEART values and positive influence in daily activities and communication.
