We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work with the Point of Care Testing (POCT) manager to deliver a safe and effective POCT service. Applicants should be literate and numerate competent users of MS Excel and Word with a science‑based Foundation degree, HNC/Diploma or equivalent knowledge and skills together with an understanding of good laboratory practice and Health & Safety requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to work autonomously within agreed policies following appropriate training and supervision in the required aspects of their support function.
To support the Point of Care (POCT) manager in the organisation and performance of all aspects of the routine and specialised services delivered by the Pathology POCT service across all the organisation's sites and elements of the community served by the Trust. POCT is currently carried out on all wards in all secondary care hospital sites and there is an aspiration to support POCT in a number of surgeries and community hospitals in primary care.
