London North West University (LNWH) Hospitals seeks dynamic, skilled individuals to join their Emergency Medicine Consultant team across our two Emergency Departments at Northwick Park and Ealing Hospitals. This post will be a 12 month fixed term role.
Responsibilities
- Providing clinical leadership to the Emergency Departments (EDs) at both Ealing and Northwick Park sites, in co‐operation with the Clinical Directors.
- Lead and develop initiatives to ensure improvement in performance of clinical indicators.
- Oversee and ensure the provision of high quality clinical services and lead appropriate training and audit activity.
- Collaborate in the development of Emergency services, new systems, processes and procedures.
- Manage efficient floor management in conjunction with the Nursing Shift Leader, including deployment of junior medical staff.
- Collaborate with the Lead Clinician and Senior Nurse Management Team to implement medical policy for department operations.
- Participate in the medical advisory and liaison work of the hospital Medical Staff Committee and other committees such as Clinical Governance, Safeguarding Adults, Transfusion, Major Incident.
- Ensure effective use of computer systems within the department through education and direction of junior doctors.
- Co‐operate with the consultant team and HR to recruit and appoint junior medical staff and registrars, and provide guidance and supervision of clinical work.
Qualifications
- Dual qualification in paediatric medicine is desirable but not essential.
