12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role is designed for a clinician committed to Emergency Medicine and to developing a portfolio in a personal area of interest. The successful candidate will receive a timetable that covers clinical duties on the shop floor and SPA time set aside to work on a portfolio of activities related to their topic of interest.
In this portfolio‑career model, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams bring new skills and expertise that can be shared with others. The Trust will expect the Junior Clinical Fellow to support learning sharing and standardisation of processes and guidelines on both sites, Northwick Park and Ealing EDs.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the care of patients in the Emergency Department at Northwick Park Hospital or Ealing Hospital, having pre‑agreed a base site to work at in a clinical capacity. They will have direct responsibility for patient management and will spend 20 % of their time developing their portfolio around their area of interest. Essential Criteria
- GMC Registration
- MBBS or equivalent
- ALS or ACLS
- NHS experience
The successful candidate will be allocated a Consultant Supervisor who will work alongside the Fellow to support them over 12 months to achieve their personal goals, including the development of an online portfolio and their own professional development plan. The Fellow will be expected to undertake a structured appraisal at the end of the year which will support future revalidation processes. The ED Consultant body will also support networking for the Fellow with key representatives within the Trust in that area of interest. This will support the fostering of links between the ED team and external specialties that is key to running supportive and efficient Urgent and Emergency Care pathways.
