The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
This is a permanent role supporting the Financial Control and Treasury department. The post holder will provide high-quality cashiering services to patients, staff, and customers, handling patient fares and property according to established principles. This function is vital for ensuring the Trust maintains sufficient cash flow to meet its financial obligations. Additionally, they will assist the Capital and Financial Accounting team with financial accounting duties to ensure the general ledger is maintained promptly and accurately, in line with Standing Financial Instructions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a personal service to staff and patients for issuing petty cash, patient fares, minor staff reimbursements, and ensure Trust records are updated accurately and promptly.
- Handle income from chargeable overseas patients.
- Contact the Trust’s bankers to obtain authorisation for payments made via credit/debit cards.
- Record all receipts and payments in the Trust’s financial ledger systems.
- Manage receipting and banking of Trust income, preparing documentation for bank submission.
- Prepare and distribute manual cheques for salaries, wages, and urgent creditor payments.
- Assist with audits in the Financial Accounting office and contribute to implementing recommendations.
- Perform calculations, verify reimbursement authorisations, and ensure VAT is correctly applied to all cashiering transactions.
- Provide coverage for all cashier sites within the Trust as required.
