Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Receptionists to join our Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health Service. You will be based at The Wakley Centre, providing contraception and testing/treatment for the management of sexually transmitted infections. You may also be required occasionally to cover clinics at Ealing, Harrow and Central Middlesex Hospital.

Your role is the first point of contact for our service users. You will provide a professional and caring welcome, direct patients to the appropriate member of our multi‑disciplinary team, and handle highly confidential and sensitive issues. You will work independently, demonstrate excellent interpersonal, telephone and IT skills, and be available for evening shifts, one to two days per week.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and caring welcome to patients of all ages, including teenagers.
• Direct patients to the correct member of the multi‑disciplinary team.
• Handle highly confidential and sensitive issues with discretion.
• Maintain accurate records using approved IT systems.
• Work independently and as a strong team player.
• Undertake evening shifts, one to two days a week.

Person Specification

  • Confidence in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of working in a customer‑facing role
  • Good general education, including GCSE English
  • Experience of working in an NHS customer‑facing role (desirable)
  • Competent in using Lillie and Cerner (desirable)
