Join our Spartan Spirit Shop team at 1855 Place! As a Retail Attendant, you will assist with the inside operation. You will be responsible for greeting and welcoming customers and clients, selling merchandise, working the cash register, answering incoming phone calls, and providing routine customer service. It is your job to support the Spartan Spirit Shop while interacting with a wide range of clients and customers.

Typical Duties:

  • Answering customer questions and answering phones
  • Selling merchandise and taking payments
  • Greeting customers and clients
  • General office duties as they become available

Required Qualifications:

  • Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
  • Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and be positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Must be able to work at least one weekend shift per week
  • Must be available for summer employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Available to work weekends

Physical Demands:

May be asked to lift up to 50 lb boxes.

Work Hours:

10-15 hours throughout the week and weekends.
