We are seeking a skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join a growing technical team within a specialist engineering environment. This is an office-based role in High Wycombe, offering the opportunity to work closely with both customers and internal departments, providing expert technical solutions and supporting sales activities. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between engineering and sales, ensuring customers receive accurate, tailored solutions while also supporting internal teams and the service department with technical quotations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Technical Sales Manager to understand customer requirements and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
- Respond to customer enquiries regarding product specifications, technical capabilities, and application suitability.
- Produce detailed technical quotations for customers, as well as supporting internal teams and the service department.
- Develop technical proposals, presentations, and supporting documentation for sales activities.
- Support internal teams with product knowledge, technical guidance, and application advice.
- Deliver product demonstrations and training sessions to both internal staff and customers.
- Assist in the creation of technical manuals, datasheets, and installation guides.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to relay customer feedback and identify product improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving processes and product offerings.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar) or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous experience in an Applications Engineer, Technical Support, or similar role.
- Background within HVAC, refrigeration, or a related technical industry is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and system applications.
- Experience producing technical quotations and proposals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
