We're working with a fast-paced, friendly IT solutions business to find an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their close-knit team. This is a technical, varied role supporting SMEs across the UK and internationally on IT and telecoms solutions. The role is fully office-based with one client visit per month to a site in Horsham.
- Providing technical support via phone and ticketing system across a diverse SME client base
- Leading small to medium projects from start to finish
- Monitoring, triaging and responding to security alerts using Microsoft Sentinel and the M365 Defender suite
- Supporting Cyber Essentials+ compliance β evidence collection, remediation tracking and controls implementation
- Managing patch compliance across endpoints and servers and driving remediation to agreed targets
- Supporting Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning including backup/restore testing and documentation
- Working with senior engineers to identify recurring incidents and implement long-term fixes
- Supporting change management aligned to ITIL best practice
- Microsoft 365 β Admin, Security, Compliance, Exchange and GDAP
- Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR) and incident triage/response
- Microsoft 365 Defender β Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365
- Microsoft Entra & Intune β Conditional Access, LAPS, Configuration Policies
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Networking β Security, Switching, L3, Firewalls, IPsec, SSL
- Patch management and compliance tooling for endpoints and servers
- Backup and DR/BCP β restore validation, DR testing, documentation
- Self-motivated and proactive β training is available but self-learning is essential
- Microsoft qualifications are beneficial but not required
- Full UK driving licence (clean) and own vehicle β essential
Yearly bonus, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, casual dress, company events, pension, free on-site parking. Monday to Friday, 8:45am β 5:00pm (38.75 hours per week).
