We're working with an innovative technology business in Amersham to find a Junior Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing Development Team. This is a genuinely hands-on role — you'll own electronics from concept through to production. Schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, prototyping, testing — the full lifecycle. If you're a recent graduate or have a year or two under your belt and want a role where you actually get to build things, this is worth a look.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing electronic circuits from concept through to production
- Conducting schematics and creating well-structured circuit designs
- Running circuit simulations to gauge performance
- Selecting components and evaluating modern technologies
- Supporting PCB layout activities
- Planning and executing design verification testing
- Assisting with fault-finding
- Collaborating closely with software, mechanical and systems engineering teams
- Liaising with suppliers and external partners to ensure seamless hardware and software integration
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Graduate or up to 2 years' experience in electronic product development
- Strong understanding of circuit design and electronics
- Experience with CAD software
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Creative thinker who can translate ideas into real-world solutions
- Exposure to mechanical design is a bonus but not essential
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential — site not on public transport routes)
A few things worth knowing:
The business offers a great work-life balance — Monday to Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, with an early finish at 12:30pm on Fridays. On-site parking is available.
