Role Summary and Impact: The Data & Business Intelligence team builds and maintains the infrastructure needed for our agency and clients to answer questions with data. We work across the entire agency’s client bases to deploy standardised and customised reporting solutions. We serve our clients by using best practices in data modelling, management and storage to automate the collection of data from our client’s advertising campaigns in Google BigQuery. Working across our tech stack, you will work to pull data from a wide variety of marketing platforms, and then work to transform, query and validate that data. Working as part of a small and agile team you will help to build and optimise data pipelines and troubleshoot when there are problems. You’ll work collaboratively with the campaign planning and activation teams across Paid Social, Paid Search and Programmatic display to develop data solutions for complex data use cases; such as data manipulation and forecasting. Our goal is to give clients and internal stakeholders a fresh, accurate and granular perspective on campaign performance, and to lay the groundwork for AI-powered advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within a team of engineers to set up, maintain and document ETL processes designed to provide a data pipeline and infrastructure for our clients.
- Learning from and working with the incumbent BI Engineer and own the set up and running of data projects.
- Building on an interest in cloud computing technology, such as Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery, Microsoft Azure or AWS Athena, you will develop an opinion on how best to utilise and deploy cloud computing technologies for our data projects.
- Modelling data from the raw extracts taken from marketing platforms into usable data sets for analysis and visualisation.
- Work alongside a data visualisation specialist to define how data should be manipulated to make it work for a client dashboard use case.
- Assist in the development of case studies to highlight and celebrate the work that you do as part of the team.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a reporting, business intelligence or data engineering role.
- Experience of extracting data from digital marketing platforms including Google Analytics, Google Campaign Manager and Facebook Ads Manager.
- Hands on experience on data engineering concepts, such as performing data transformations, cleaning and structuring datasets, or creating data models to support analysis.
- Some experience of using SQL, GoogleSQL or Python and interested in improving your skills.
- You have an interest in cloud computing technology, such as Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery, Microsoft Azure or AWS Athena.
- Although it’s not essential for this role, you may have some experience of building data visualisation in Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio.
- You may have worked with data as part of your degree or education, but any educational background is welcome.
- You have experience of using technology to collect or transform data and can talk about the problems they solved, and any challenges experienced.
- You are motivated by taking on new challenges and learning new things.
- You can demonstrate an understanding of the digital advertising landscape.
