- Supporting underwriters with actuarial and technical pricing matters, including case pricing, renewal monitoring, expected loss cost calculations and business planning day‑to‑day pricing supports.
- Challenging assumptions and decisions where appropriate, bringing an independent pricing view.
- Supporting Pricing Portfolio Reviews and providing insight into the quality and performance of risks written.
- Maintaining and developing management information for analysis and reporting.
- Liaising with other teams, including Catastrophe Modelling, Reserving and Capital modelling, ensuring consistency between pricing, risk and capital frameworks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in pricing, ideally within commercial insurance, specialty lines or the London Market.
- A background as a Senior Pricing Analyst, Actuarial Pricing Analyst or similar.
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Progress towards actuarial qualification, or equivalent actuarial/pricing experience.
- Minimum three or more years’ relevant pricing experience, with the ability to add value quickly.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience using programming languages such as SQL, VBA, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and underwriters.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and commercial judgement.
Experience That Would Be Especially Valuable:
- Python
- Pricing model development or model transition work
- Emblem, R or similar actuarial/pricing software
- London Market or specialty insurance pricing
- Working closely with underwriters on technical pricing decisions
