We are continuously growing our operations team and have several new Wire Technician (internally known as a Wire Person) roles available. This position is mainly responsible for wiring a range of our intricate world class products.
Within this role you will be required to work and communicate with other departments during production such as Mechanical Fitters, Test Engineers and Engineering.
To be a successful candidate for our Wire Technician roles you must have excellent soldering skills and strong attention to detail to ensure the equipment is manufactured to the highest industry standards.
The main responsibilities will include:

Wiring harnesses, cable assemblies and sub-assemblies

Be competent in wiring of cabinets and installing/connecting wiring harnesses into assembled units

Receive work instructions from your Team Leader and ensure your time is booked to the correct cost code using the company’s ERP system

Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role, * Working as part of the Wiring Team but also required to work and communicate with other departments during production such as Mechanical Fitters, Test Engineers and Engineering

Opportunity to travel overseas (on occasions) to support FSE department, which is optional

Working in a modern manufacturing facility

Pressurised role working to tight time schedules

Completed a recognised apprenticeship as a Wire Person or equivalent experience gained through previous employment

Preferred to be educated to a minimum of NVQ / City & Guilds level 3 in a relevant discipline

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, wiring schedules and circuit diagrams
-
Must be proficient in soldering, crimping, lacing and splicing
-
Familiarity with a variety of Mil Spec Connectors, Cable Ident and Cable production techniques

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) awareness

Assembly of PCB’s (desirable but not essential)

Be a good team player with the ability to work using own initiative when required

Have the aptitude to produce workmanship to the highest industry standards

Work in a safe and orderly manner to ensure all company H&S standards are adhered to

Work at an acceptable pace to meet deadlines, without sacrificing H&S & Quality standards

Be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised when required

Must be willing to train or be trained by others when required
