Compressed hours – 37 ½ hours per wk (Mon – Thurs 0815 – 1700 / Fri 0815 – 1245)

About the role
Are you a hands-on engineer who loves turning ideas into real-world solutions? We’re looking for a practical and motivated Engineering Technician to join our innovative Research & Development team.
In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers and fellow technicians to help bring early-stage concepts to life. From building and assembling prototypes to supporting system testing and fault-finding, you’ll play a key role in developing next-generation technologies that support our business goals.

The main elements of the role will include:
- Build and assemble mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems to support prototype development and testing.
- Assist in the design and setup of test rigs and prototype equipment to bring concepts into working systems.
- Support fault-finding and troubleshooting during trials, using diagrams and logical problem-solving.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring clear communication and timely progress updates.
- Maintain a safe and organised lab environment, including tools, equipment, and planning support.
About the person
- Qualified to HNC/Degree level in Engineering or a related field, with apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance.
- Strong skills in mechanical fitting, electrical wiring, and system assembly
- Ability to interpret logic diagrams, technical drawings, and engineering instructions
- A team-focused approach with strong communication skills
- A proactive mindset and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport (with no travel restrictions)
