This is a full-time, on-site role based in Barrow-In-Furness. The Home Health Care Assistant will provide person-centered support to individuals in their homes, assisting with activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality personal care
- Supporting meal preparation and hydration
- Monitoring well-being and promptly reporting any changes in condition to supervisors
- Offering companionship and engaging individuals in meaningful activities
- Promoting independence and dignity at all times
- Following care plans and maintaining accurate documentation
- Adhering to health and safety and safeguarding standards
- Collaborating with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications:
- Strong skills in Home Care and Patient Care, with a focus on person-centered and compassionate support
- Experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living (e.g., mobility, eating, toileting) to promote comfort, safety, and independence
- Competence in delivering respectful Personal Care, including hygiene, dressing, and grooming, in line with individual care plans
- Effective Communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to build trust with individuals and families
- Previous experience in home care, healthcare, or social care is preferred; care-related training or qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are an advantage
- Ability to work reliably on a full-time schedule, including potential evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong professionalism, reliability, and empathy, with a commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and high standards of care
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo background checks and required training
