Being a health promoter with us is an energetic, exciting job. From a mobile app campaign to help victims of sexual violence access care in our hospitals, to community meetings explaining the importance of handwashing in refugee camps, health promoters are a direct link to the community outside the hospital walls. They are vital to ensure that Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) projects are accessible and relevant to the communities they serve. Responsibilities Our health promoters work worldwide to develop strategies addressing various health issues, from sexual violence care to Ebola prevention. Responsibilities include: Analyzing local behaviors and practices at risk of transmitting diseases within a target group Coordinating IEC activities (Information, Education, Communication) on topics supporting medical activities, such as promotion of medical services, hygiene, maternal health, malnutrition, malaria, HIV/AIDS, Ebola, etc. Researching, designing, and implementing appropriate interventions Building the capacity of local teams to implement health promotion campaigns Read our application guide for all overseas roles. Role requirements Formal education: Master in Social Sciences or Behavioral Sciences (e.g., Anthropology, Sociology, Motivation Psychology) Master in Public Health with a health promotion focus Master in Community Health or Nursing Diploma in community health Professional experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in health promotion, education, prevention, or community mobilization Experience with qualitative methodologies, strategy design, implementation, and monitoring Broad experience in health education working with communities Experience supervising, managing, and training others Ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams Willingness to work in unstable areas and cope with difficult environments Availability for 9-12 months At least 3 months’ experience in developing countries through work, volunteering, or travel Flexibility and stress management skills Fluency in English Assets Knowledge of tropical or infectious diseases Previous NGO field experience Experience in unstable environments Knowledge of qualitative data software like Nvivo Skills in graphics editing software like Photoshop Experience with social media marketing or as an illustrator/designer Previous experience in humanitarian settings Languages We especially welcome candidates speaking additional languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic. #J-18808-Ljbffr
