THE ROLE

To develop, implement and maintain a robust transport compliance framework that ensures full adherence to Operator Licence obligations, DVSA requirements, FORS standards, Drivers' Hours regulations and company fleet policies.

I this role you will be responsible for providing independent assurance to the Board that transport operations are compliant, risks are identified and addressed, appropriate controls, auditing and documentation are in place across the fleet operation.

You will be primarily based in our head office in Northamptonshire but will be required to travel across the Southeast and East regions dependant of the needs of the Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and coaching, direct reports: Transport Manager, Fleet Administrator and Transport Compliance Administrator
  • Managing cost targets, budgets, credit control and fleet-related investment to ensure financial control and consistent value for money.
  • Negotiating plant and vehicle maintenance and rental agreements, ensuring commercial terms meet operational, compliance and budget requirements.

  • A confidant transport compliance leader, with extensive technical expertise, sound judgement and effective governance skills.
  • Able to communicate and set clear objectives managing risks, audits and KPI’s
  • Provider of periodic Board assurance and compliant solutions.
  • Utiliser of data to produce and oversee corrective actions in periodic data and planning.
  • Leader of continuous improvements, whilst empowering the team through clear expectations and accountabilities, along with establishing strong professional relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Commercially aware, with legacy managing cost targets, budgets, credit control and operational spending within a fleet or transport environment.
  • Skilled in negotiating plant and vehicle maintenance and rental contracts, balancing cost, service quality, compliance and business needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Holds, a National CPC qualification.
  • Able to demonstrate relevant experience in transport compliance, fleet assurance or a related operational compliance environment, inclusive of;
