Mason Street Furniture Ltd seeks an experienced Independent Connections Provider (ICP) Manager to lead and develop our ICP division from our Newton Aycliffe office in the Northeast. This is a strategic role focused on building and managing a team capable of delivering national LV highway connections projects alongside our core business operations.
The core work of this division centres on LV connections to highway assets, LV mains, and associated civil works. You will be responsible for developing the division's capabilities, managing design approval processes, coordinating subcontractors and designers, and working closely with our commercial and pre-construction teams to deliver profitable, compliant projects.
Within the first month, you will be required to agree and develop a comprehensive three-year business plan for the ICP division, setting the strategic direction for growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Manage statutory and street works noticing, DNO coordination and NRSWA compliance
- Lead and develop delivery teams and subcontractors to meet programme and quality targets
- Oversee design approval and technical compliance with DNO adoption standards
- Control operational planning, resources, materials, and day-to-day ICP delivery
- Support commercial activities including pricing, cost control and supplier management
- Ensure full HSEQ, ISO and LRQA NERS compliance with audit readiness
- Develop and deliver strategic growth plans and performance reporting
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- CSCS/ECS card holder
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong understanding of ICP/DNO operations and NERS requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering ICP/DNO LV connection projects
- Proven expertise in street lighting and LV distribution networks is essential
- Demonstrable delivery of LV connections to highway assets and LV mains installations
- Experience managing operational teams and developing workforce capability
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multi-site, national projects
- Strong background in civil works associated with electrical connections
- Experience managing design approvals, technical compliance and project budgets
- Track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and within budget
- Strong expertise in LV mains installation, jointing, cable laying and termination
- Detailed understanding of DNO specifications and adoption standards (eg ENA G81)
- Sound knowledge of NERS compliance and registration requirements
- Working knowledge of CDM 205, Electricity at Work Regulations, and NRSWA
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems
