Position Overview
Associate Principal Scientist, Health Economics & Decision Sciences (HEDS), located in Asia-Pacific (AP). The role supports local markets in AP, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle-Europe Region. The position requires strategic leadership in model adaptations, platform development, and cross-functional coordination.
Primary Responsibilities
- Model Adaptations (50%)
- Share responsibility for health-economic model adaptations in local markets.
- Plan adaptation needs with Market Access, Outcomes Research, and Value & Implementation teams.
- Align model inputs and strategies with regional and HQ stakeholders.
- Execute or supervise model adaptations, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Qualify local suppliers or internal staff and provide training on modeling guides.
- Review local inputs, calculations, and outputs for quality assurance.
- Assist regional and local colleagues with inquiries from HTA bodies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to achieve timely, high-quality submissions.
- Foster continuous improvement of processes in model adaptations.
- THEOREM Platform (25%)
- Provide input on new feature requests for THEOREM.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing for platform releases.
- Handle model-calculation and logic queries from users.
- Triage and respond to incoming questions and support requests.
- Strategic and Operational Tasks (25%)
- Coordinate modeling activities across regions to ensure consistency.
- Prepare slide decks, newsletters, and other communications for senior management.
- Contribute to HEDS 2030 and digital strategy initiatives.
Position Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Actuarial Sciences, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (Master’s) or 3 years (PhD) in health economics and modeling within a pharmaceutical company or external supplier.
- Experience submitting health-economic models to HTA bodies in the covered regions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project-management skills.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership abilities.
- Fluency in English.
Benefits
Salary range: $156,900.00 – $247,000.00. Eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement (401(k)), paid holidays, vacation, compassionate and sick days, and other insurance benefits.
