Your Team Responsibilities
You will sit alongside MSCI's Sustainability & Climate Product organization, working as part of a growing, cross-functional team focused on building MSCI's Emerging Risk capabilities. The product team is responsible for developing data and analytics products to help investors make better investment decisions across markets and asset classes.
In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively with Product, Research, R&D, Technology, and Commercial stakeholders to help bring emerging risk capabilities to market.
- Contribute to a centrally coordinated effort to ensure emerging risk initiatives are aligned, reusable, and integrated across MSCI.
- Be part of a highly visible initiative with strong senior sponsorship, while operating within a supportive, team-based execution model. This role is designed to have meaningful impact while leveraging shared ownership, leadership guidance, and cross-team collaboration.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Product Development: Partner with R&D and product stakeholders on the development of new product sets and ongoing product enhancements. Support the creation of business cases, revenue estimates, and ROI analyses for new initiatives; contribute to mockups and product scoping documents; assist with project coordination and prioritization; and work closely with IT, Data Operations, and Research teams to support successful project delivery.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Help coordinate work across multiple parallel workstreams, including strategy, data and models, technology, and client validation. Support alignment across Research, Index, Analytics, Private Assets, and Technology teams to reduce duplication, enable reuse, and promote consistent execution.
- Product Delivery and Enablement: Support product readiness activities such as documentation, internal alignment, and collaboration with Commercial and Client Coverage teams. Partner with Marketing to translate emerging risk capabilities into clear client use cases and value propositions, and to support go-to-market planning.
- Support the Client Coverage Organization: Support MSCI's client-facing teams by responding to questions related to product features, functionality, pricing, and licensing. Contribute to user guides and documentation, assist with RFP responses and client communications, and help organize training sessions for Coverage teams as needed.
- Strategy Support and Business Reporting: Contribute to strategy development and business reporting, including the preparation of clear, concise presentations for senior leadership on key initiatives, metrics, and business trends.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
We are looking for candidates who are excited by emerging topics, building products, leveraging AI capabilities and comfortable working in evolving problem spaces. Helpful experience includes:
- Experience in product management, research, strategy, data, or analytics roles within financial services, sustainability, risk, or adjacent domains.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience working with complex or unstructured data and translating it into structured insights.
- Interest in emerging risks and structural change (e.g., technology disruption, geopolitics, climate, supply chains), even if depth is in one specific area.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments, partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to presentations, documentation, and structured problem-solving.
- An execution-oriented mindset, with comfort operating in areas that are still being defined and iterated.
- Experience with AI, advanced analytics, or graph-based data structures is a plus, but not required. Curiosity, learning agility, and strong fundamentals are more important than prior specialization.
